Insight Reporting

Insight Reporting will be disabled on January 31, 2016. Please begin using Bi Reporting.

Insight Reporting is Taleo Learn's official reporting platform. It provides you with greater flexibility in generating and exporting reports than the classic LearnCenter Reporting system. With Learn Insight Reporting, you will have information about your learning events and training at your fingertips, whenever, however and anywhere you want it.

In addition to classic reporting features such as being able to customize folder and report names, and exporting to various formats, Insight provides you with the following capabilities, not available with the classic reporting tool, such as:

• More than 100 Standard out-of-the-box reports, fully integrated to measure objectives and effectiveness for your learning management process.

These reports will be released to you in phases.

• Ability to share your reports with other Administrators or Users and groups, and enable them to interact with the reports.
• Easy to use report navigation via interactive widgets , control panel, web embedded views.
• Report history feature gives you the ability to view previous versions of reports, eliminating the need to re-run reports over and over.
• Ability to mark reports as favorites.
• Ability to use the optional Actuate® BIRT® Designer Pro software (sold separately from Actuate).

Standard Reports Available Now

The following table lists the out-of-the-box reports available now. You can use some of these reports to generate additional reports (as listed in the second column of the table). Additional reports are coming with future software releases.

The iServer, which manages Insight Reporting, including the sending of emails, reads Users' email addresses once a day. If you update an email address, it can take up to 24 hours for iServer to reflect the new email address. If you build a report and select Notify Me before the iServer has the new email address, the emailed report will be sent to the previous email address.

Setting Up Insight Reporting for your LearnCenter

To make use of all of the Insight Reporting functionality, you will want to do the following:

• Decide who you want to give access to the reports and what capabilities you want to give them. With Insight, you can grant reporting access to the following:
• LearnCenter Administrators - from the ControlPanel menu
• Supervisors - through the My Team dynamic object
• End Users - through one of two dynamic objects
• Grant the Insight Reporting User Permissions to appropriate LearnCenter Administrators. This makes the Insight Reports menu option available to them on the Reports ControlPanel menu.
• Grant the appropriate Insight Reporting Supervisor Permissions to the supervisors who will be accessing Insight Reports through My Team.
• Insert a My Team dynamic object on a LearnCenter page, or edit an existing dynamic object and include options from the Insight Reporting tab.
• Grant the Insight Reporting User Permissions to the Users who will be accessing and using Insight Reports through one of the two Insight Reporting dynamic objects.
• Insert the Insight Reporting dynamic objects on a LearnCenter page.

Determine how you want Users notified of new reports when they click the Notify Me.

You have two options for how Users are notified about waiting Insight reports when you click Notify Me:

• LearnCenter sends an email message with the report attached. This is the default behavior.
• LearnCenter sends an email message with no report attached, but with a message notifying you that the report has finished running and is ready to be viewed. This option is useful when you have very large file attachments that might get blocked by corporate spam systems. Users can then access the reports within Insight Reporting in LearnCenter by clicking (Manage) and then either (View) or (Export). The notification text will look similar to the following example:

To set the second option, set the following System Registry Key:

Reports	EnableInsightReportAttachments	Enables report email attachments for Insight Reporting. Type: Value Value: 0 or 1 Default: 1 Additional Information: 0 = Insight reports are not sent as email attachments. The notification email tells recipients that a new report is waiting for them in LearnCenter. 1= Insight Reports are sent as email attachments to email recipients.

Accessing Insight Reporting

You can access Insight Reporting from the Reports ControlPanel menu. On the ControlPanel:

1. Click  on the Reports menu to expand it. 
2. Click Insight Reporting.

Filters and instructions are available for each tab and both are collapsed by default when you view the tab. (Filters apply only to the reports, and not the folders.) Click to expand each section as needed. You can filter by Name Contains and Folder. You can also indicate what reports you want to Display (all reports, scheduled, or favorites only), and how the Pagination should appear (how many reports per page).

Insight reports are organized on three tabs:

• Standard Reports - these are the standard, out of the box reports provided with the software.
• Custom Reports- these are reports you have customized.
• Shared Reports - these are reports you have shared with other Admins or Users.
